Diane Graham-Henry 5K Club Race

Chicago Walkers Club is proud to host a USA Track and Field (USATF)-certified race each fall. Named for our long-time coach Diane Graham-Henry, this USATF-judged race is also the Illinois and Midwest Region 5K race walk championships. It is well-attended by people from Chicago and neighboring states, often up to 30 participants. Prizes and awards immediately follow the race. The small size makes it unintimidating and an excellent opportunity for your first race. The 2018 date is Sunday October 7. We hope you will join us.

Race Results

We conduct brief introductory clinics at our 9:00 a.m. Saturday Fitness Walks. More extensive race walk clinics are offered periodically to give walkers enhanced opportunities to learn proper walk form and improve their technique. Upcoming Chicago Walkers Club sponsored clinics and also other locally available clinics will be posted here, annouced after Saturday workouts, and announced by email to members.

Two-time Olympian Tim Seaman conducted a well-attended clinic in Chicago in June 2015 with support from Jeff Salvage and Diane Graham-Henry. Race walkers from age 10 to 83 came from San Francisco, Portland, Atlanta, Nashvile, Cleveland, Detroit, Elgin and other cities to participate.

Check this space for future announcements and join us for a clinic!

Social Events

In addition to our Saturday walks, we offer members a variety of social events including dinners, parties and brunches. Scheduled social events include our annual summer brunch on August 25 and our annual holiday party in December. Contact President for details.
